Hot launches: Smartphones coming in May

This month we expect a torrent of new smartphones to be launched in the country. Right from premium flagships to budget and mid-range warriors, Indian buyers definitely will have a wide range of choices at their disposal. So which ones should you watch out for? Follow our list.   LG G Pro 2 **LG G Pro 2**  is the successor to earlier smartphone G Pro. It has a massive 5.9 inch full HD IPS display with other high-end features such as 3GB RAM and 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Sadly LG’s latest offering does not score high in design department, following the same language that we saw in the G2 and the G Pro before it. The  LG G Pro 2 can now be bought online  through e-commerce site Snapdeal for Rs 49,900. You can check out our  first impressions of LG G Pro 2 .   HTC One M8 It is one of the most anticipated smartphones in the world, and not just in India. The HTC One M8 will see some tough competition from  Samsung’s Galaxy S5  and goes on sale this month. One feature that could sway potential buyers in favour M8 is the metallic body. Our  first impressions of HTC One M8  were quite good, so we are hopeful that HTC’s latest does well in the market. The smartphone is now  available online in India through Flipkart . This the second smartphone from Oppo to hit the Indian market after the  **N1 with a rotating camera** . The R1 comes with MediaTek MT6582 chipset which has a quad-core processor. The company claims that the PI technology of R1’s 8MP camera produces more natural white balance and delivers precise auto focus for quicker shooting. The Oppo R1 is available for Rs 26,990.   HTC Desire 210 HTC Desire 210 is one of the nicest looking budget smartphones in India. Without being too diminutive the smartphone fits neatly into hands. It comes with BlinkFeed and Video Highlights features which we saw in the One series smartphone by HTC. The phone will be competing with another  dual-SIM smartphone Nokia X . Desire 210 has already been launched in India for Rs 8,700 and will be available in stores from first week of May. Check out our  first impressions of HTC Desire 210 to know more. [caption id=“attachment_222336” align=“aligncenter” width=“614”] ![htc_desire_210_5](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/htc_desire_210_5.jpg) HTC’s budget warrior[/caption] HTC Desire 816 Desire 816 is a mid-range smartphone , that looks to be HTC’s best bet in India. It will be competing with the likes of  Sony Xperia Z Ultra Dual . It packs HTC BoomSound speakers for enhanced audio experience and comes loaded with a 2600 mAh battery that should go through an entire day without much trouble. The phone comes with a price tag of Rs 23,990 and is expected to hit the stores in May just like Desire 210.   Nokia Lumia 630 **Nokia Lumia 630** was announced at Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 conference and will be the first ever Windows Phone 8.1 device. Nokia Lumia 630 is a budget smartphone that will come in two variants; single and dual-SIM (3G+2G). The smartphone is attractive to look at and is comfortable to hold and carry around in your pocket. You can also keep both the SIMs active simultaneously. So if you get a call on both the SIMs at the same time Lumia 630 will routes these calls automatically. Check out our  hands-on with Nokia Lumia 630  to know what else it has to offer. The smartphone will come with Android Open Source Project out of the box. Unlike other Android smartphones, the login and app data is said to be tied to Microsoft’s cloud services. Also instead of Google services, Nokia XL will come loaded with Microsoft essentials. Besides Nokia’s own app store, the smartphone will also have third-party app stores.   Auxus Nuclea X **Auxus Nuclea X**  from iBerry comes is a dual-SIM smartphone that is loaded with some spectacular features for a stunningly low price tag. The Nuclea X is the cheapest octa-core smartphone to hit the Indian market. It offers features like 1.7GHz octa Core MT6592 processor, 13MP rear and 8MP front camera, 8GB internal storage space expandable up to 64GB. All these for a price tag of just Rs 12,999.
