HomeShop18 has launched its mobile shopping application for iOS and Android. To download the app you just need to search for the term HS18 on either of the two app stores. The app comes with a Live TV streaming function and an inbuilt QR code scanner.
The app lets you browse through HomeShop18's product catalogue, and you can view the details of a product by selecting it with just a click. However, you will have to call the site's call centre in order to place orders. The app also integrates the multiple shopping channels offered by HomeShop18.
Shoppers can view their order status through the app whenever they want to and can also synchronise their personal shopping carts with the website. You can even choose the cash-on-delivery option if you prefer to pay that way.
Now browse through HomeShop18's catalogue on your phone, but make calls to order.
Sundeep Malhotra, CEO and Founder Homeshop18.com and Homeshop18 TV, said, “Online shopping in India is going through a transformative phase driven by technology and changing lifestyles. With 30 million (and growing) smartphone users and the increasing usage of smart phones, we believe ‘shopping on mobile’ is here to stay. It’s inevitable to bring shopping on the mobile screens of this smartphone generation. Internationally, popular e-commerce brands are already generating around 10 percent of their transactions through mobile phones; we can expect a similar trend in India in the coming years.”
“The launch of HomeShop18’s m-commerce initiative is another testimony to our unique multi-screen strategy. We are committed to providing our consumers convenient shopping alternatives from their homes, workplaces and now on-the-move. Our applications are ahead of the times in terms of both the technology and user experience we offer," he added.
Last month, HomeShop18, in association with Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd. (DIAL), introduced a Virtual Shopping Wall. This Virtual Wall offers premium merchandise to consumers at Terminal 3 (T3) domestic side of New Delhi’s IGI Airport (IGIA). The virtual shopping wall lets passengers view a range of products, including consumer electronics, mobiles, tablets, clothing, accessories, fashion jewellery, and perfumes on dynamic screens. Flyers will be able to order products by scanning the QR code displayed against each item or over the phone at the call centre. HomeShop18 has also enabled a cash-on-delivery payment method to drive trials and will follow it up with mobile payments.
