Hitman Absolution Announced

Rumors of a new Hitman game have been doing the rounds for a while now and today, Square Enix officially confirmed its existence. Hitman Absolution as it’s called will allow players to delve deeper into the mind of everyone’s favorite bald assassin, Agent 47, offering gameplay that will appease both veterans and newcomers alike.

Here’s what the game’s director, Tore Blystad, had to say, “For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy. This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games; something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world.”

The press release further promises “new features never seen before in the Hitman franchise”. We’re not too sure what these new features could be but we’re guessing it could be some sort of multiplayer or co-operative gameplay. Either way we’ll get to know more at E3 2011 which is where Square plans on showcasing gameplay.

Hitman Absolution will release sometime next year for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
