The latest announcement from Hike Messenger reveals that the company has crossed the 100 million user mark. It also claims 40 billion messages per month.
In September, the company had disclosed it crossed 70 million registered users. In December, it had also announced the 30 billion messages mark. Talking about its newest milestone of 100 million mark, these are registered numbers as the company hasn’t mentioned active users.
Late last year, it had also introduced the Hindi news feed . “We have carefully studied content consumption patterns of our user base and Hike being an Indian app, we are happy that now our users can read news in Hindi. Users can switch between Hindi and English news by tapping a button. We believe this is a step forward as we embark on our journey to bring India online in a locally relevant way,” Kavin Bharti Mittal, founder of Hike had said then.
In December, Hike Messenger had announced to support eight Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. With the launch, Hike aimed at bringing people and communities across India to be in touch with their family, friends and contacts in their own native languages, defying the English language barrier.
