It’s no secret that the highly-anticipated Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain will be on display at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Most of the time, these demonstrations are pre-planned and choreographed to show off the most awesome things that the developers can. However, according to DualShockers , series creator Hideo Kojima has taken to Twitter to talk about how difficult planning an MGS5 live demo actually is.

The above tweet translates to, “If you’re going to see the demo at the stage event, I may have to stop [before the end of the presentation> because of mistakes.”

Kojima later elaborated:

Which translates to: “Oh my, the demo for the stage event is 100% more difficult. The behavior of the enemy is different every time, I can’t help it because I cannot predict it. I found out while playing that it’s not possible to pre-plan the presentation. If it was our own booth, extending the time would be possible on a case-by-case “basis, but this time it’s not.”

One of the most important things for any stealth game is always AI, and the Metal Gear series has never disappointed in this regard. Typically, every game in the franchise has added something new to the AI, be it MGS1’s enemies’ capability to track Snake’s footprints in the snow, the ability to hold up MGS2’s enemies at gunpoint and make them wet themselves, spooking out MGS3’s enemies by throwing live animals at them or aligning in one of the NPC factions in MGS4 to help you out against the other. The demo at TGS (which is taking place on September 19) will undoubtedly show how dynamic the enemy AI in MGS5 will be.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
