Helio has launched its new Ocean smart phone that is equipped with 2 slider keypads.

Helio Launches Ocean Smartphone

Helio has launched their Ocean Smartphone with a dual slider design. It’s equipped with full QWERTY keypad that slides out when in Landscape mode and a normal dialpad when in Portrait mode. The total width of the phone is 0.86 inches. It’s overall dimensions are .33 x 2.20 x .86 inches. The Helio Ocean weighs in at 5.61 oz. Its QVGA display is 2.4 inches, with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 260K colors.

Helio has also upgraded the Operating System that now includes: an integrated IM/TXT/SMS/Email interface with support for pop/IMAP/exchange software and others. Their browser has also been upgraded to an HTML browser with additional functions like a screen browser for viewing the entire page and selecting particular sections to jump to and a search bar. According to the company it supports 3G speed for quicker downloads.

Helio has their music, GPS Playforsure and a photo upload service included in the included with the device as well. The UP (photo upload) service uses the Helio’s 2 megapixel camera. It comes with a built in memory of 200MB and is expandable using microSD cards. The device also uses Bluetooth technology and is A2DP compliant.

It supports media like MP3, AAC, WMA, MPEG-4, VOD and MOD. The Helio Ocean is available in the US for Rs. 12,980 ($295).
