Technology giant Microsoft today said sectors like healthcare, banking, financial services and insurance as well as startups are among the leading users of its local cloud services in India.
The US-based company, which had launched its local data centres in India in September last year, said state governments are also experimenting with the cloud platform to solve challenges in education, healthcare and agriculture.
"Healthcare, BFSI companies in the country are using local Microsoft cloud to embark on their digital transformation. "Technology startups and technology solution providers are using the Microsoft cloud to roll out innovative solutions that empower employees, engage customers, optimise business processes and transform business models," Microsoft India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik told reporters here.
He added that 52 of the top 100 Indian companies listed on the BSE are using Microsoft cloud (local and global). Some of Microsoft's clients in India include Fortis Healthcare, Apollo Hospitals, Bank of Baroda, HDFC, Paytm, JustDial and Snapdeal.
