GTA IV Patch Damages More Than it Fixes?

It turns out that the latest Grand Theft Auto IV PC patch released by Rockstar has in fact caused more problems than solving matters for tons of users all over the interweb.

GTA IV.net gives us the lowdown on the problem as well as the solution:

Some users are experiencing a “spinning camera” issue after installing the new GTA IV PC patch. Rockstar Games has apologized for this, and provided a temporary solution at our forums:

To fix the issue:

1) Unplug any DirectInput controllers (gamepads, joysticks etc..)
2) Reboot your computer
3) Launch GTA IV

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

If the issue persists, the following instructions are provided as a guide to assist you in deleting the conflicting DirectInput drivers:

1) Exit game
2) Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Manager->Human Interface Devices
3) Locate drivers for devices
4) Delete drivers for devices
5) Launch GTA IV

I guess we Indians are really lucky the game’s being sold for Rs. 500 here.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
