Achievements of the upcoming open-world game Grand Theft Auto 5 have been leaked, courtesy of Xbox360Achievements. The leaked achievements give us a decent look at what we can expect when the game finally hits stores.
Aside from the typical 100 percent completion achievement, there are quite a few interesting ones, such as TP Industries Arms Race, which needs the player to purchase McKenzie Field Hangar and win the arms race. There are also quite a few achievements tied to the recently-unveiled Grand Theft Auto Online.
A lot of things to do in Los Santos
The multiplayer achievements range from the mundane (American Dream where players have to own an apartment, garage and an insured vehicle) to the competitive (Run Like the Wind where the player has to survive for a day with a bounty on their head) to the bizarre (Full Refund where the player has to kill the thief that mugged them).
None of the story elements of the game have been spoiled from the achievement leak, since all of the story-related ones are Secret Achievements that are only revealed when players earn them. The most interesting single-player achievement, however, is From Beyond the Stars, where a player has to collect and return all spaceship parts. How spaceships relate to the game will be interesting to see.
Last week, Rockstar had released the official gameplay video for Grand Theft Auto Online, which will serve as the multiplayer component of GTA 5. The video showed a lot of things, with multiplayer being both structured, such as deathmatches, and unstructured, such as setting up custom race courses and activities. Before this, the company had released the gameplay video for the game’s single player component, which, as is usual for the GTA series, will focus on an epic crime drama with equal part seriousness and equal part satire.
