Google has also started rolling out its first monthly updates for its flagship phones Pixel 3 smartphones.
The changes listed for the January update address various bug fixes, and in particular, a bug creating audio quality issues while recording a video. This issue had been noticed on both Pixel 3 models, as reported by users on Reddit.

Along with the Pixel 3 models, the Pixel 2, Pixel and the Pixel C also got the update to patch general security vulnerabilities. The Pixel C, a perfectly functional 3-year old device still runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and will not be updated to Android Pie.
As per XDA Developers, Google will be rolling out the update gradually and not everyone will receive the OTA update right away.
The phones that did not receive the updates are Google's older Nexus 5X and 6P phones as they have reached the end of the three-year commitment for getting device security patches by Google. Notably, Apple is still supporting its 5-year old iPhone 5S, which currently supports the latest version of iOS 12.
