Facebook Messenger is meant to be a business to customer channel that allows chatbots to chat with more than a billion Facebook users. Microsoft Bot Framework provides the technology to create those bots. E-mail, SMS, Skype, Slack or the recently added Facebook Messenger are channels on which these bots can operate. According to a report in The Information, Google is getting into the bot business in a big way. Google is apparently going to leverage its expertise in natural language communication and artificial intelligence to deploy tools that enable developers to create bots. The announcements are expected to be made during Google I/O 2016. In December last year, there were reports of Google working on chatbot integration with Google Now . Major technology companies are focusing on bots because they are expected to replace apps. They are cheaper to develop and deploy than applications . Bots are hosted on the server side and require no downloads. Google has two important technologies it is very good at, which developers can use to make bots. **TensorFlow** is an open source machine learning platform. Applications made using this platform are very good at natural language communication with humans, and get better with use. Google has one of the most advanced and accurate natural language parser in the world.
