If you’ve tried to search for a particular topic on Google Search in the recent past, you may have noticed that the result tabs keep changing places. You will no longer find the Images tab stuck next to Web and sometimes News will come before Videos now. Google Search has become a lot more dynamic now. Depending on the kind of query you’ve asked Google Search, the results will feature more dynamic tabs that aim to give you information faster.

Tabs that Google thinks could be irrelevant to your query will be buried inside the “More” tab. For example, if you search for “Super Bowl” today, chances are that you will find News or Images as the second tab, followed by Videos. Tabs like Patents, Books and Flights will be nestled inside the More tab.   Obviously, when you search for an event, you will want to see pictures and read news and watch videos about it first. On the other hand, if you search for something like “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” the Books section will jump out and be more prominently displayed.   While this may be a minor change for Google and Search users, this is bound to be very helpful as well as time-saving for most. This will curt down on the need for users to go digging through the More tab for specific results.   [caption id=“attachment_217529” align=“alignnone” width=“640”] Tabs will change on Google Search according to your query Tabs will change on Google Search according to your query[/caption] In a statement to TechCrunch , a Google spokesperson said, “We’re always making changes to Search to help you find the most useful things more easily.” For example, if you search for “English to Hindi,” you will see Apps that will help you with translations, as well as Books and Shopping to help you purchase reference books.   In case you’re wondering about the mile-long tab list that was fit under More, these may no longer be available as standalone filters but will be a part of the main search results. Interestingly, another nifty change that Google seems to have made to Search is that you will now be able to search for recipes using the tool. Enter the name of a recipe and hit on Search Tools, you will be able to filter your recipe search with Ingredients, Cooking time and even Calories. Google seems to have taken a leaf out of Pinterest’s cooking filter.
