Brands mean a lot to companies and it takes years to build a reputed one. It looks like Google’s efforts have paid off, at least in the US. According to a study done by Harris Interactive, Google is the numero uno of brands in the US. It’s somewhat odd to have a primarily web service take on the might of other giants such as JPMorgan and 3M.
Most trusted brand around
Google isn’t the only company in the top list of reputed companies though. The next well known company we all know is Apple at fifth place followed by Intel at sixth place and Amazon.com at eighth place. Google also ranked the top when it came to work environment. Microsoft and Sony also figured in the top 16 six whereas Facebook made an appearance on the list at 31st place. Going by the trend, it appears that users in the US highly trust the IT industry more than the rest. An approximate 75 per cent of the users gave the industry their thumbs up. Financial, insurance and oil industry companies were placed lower in the rankings.
