It looks like Google is already starting to roll out a major update to the Play Store app for Android devices. The hush-hush update seems to bring improvements to the application as well as making it smoother to use.

According to an Android Police report, the update may not be a really huge one, but the minor tweaks bring along a few usability improvements that will reduce the effort you need to put in to use the application. The Google Play update includes a Recently Updated section for apps, which will present to you a list of applications that have received an update in the recent past. If you have a huge list of applications on your Android device, this will help you apply a sort filter to temporarily figure out which apps you upgraded in the recent past.

Another feature that the update is bringing along will have Android users thanking their lucky starts. When you now update multiple applications at the same time, you will find notifications bunched together in the pull-down instead of a mile long list. Update notifications usually ended up taking up all the space in the notification window, especially if you were updating apps after a bit of a while. You need not worry anymore, though. There will be enough space for your SMS and WhatsApp notifications now.

More changes include Google Books getting both list as well as discount prices while checking titles out. Buy and Rent slots on Google Movies have swapped places and you will no longer see Google Wallet option while checking movies out now. Also, when you download games now that are compatible with it, Google Play will prompt you to install Google Play Games too.

The update seems to be rolling out slowly, so if you’ve not seen these changes reflecting on Google Play on your devices right now, it is probably on its way.
