Images of what are supposedly the Google Pixel 2 have been leaked by a tipster on GSMArena. The images are of what appear to be an early developer unit. The glass on the back now covers less space. The image partially agrees with previous leaks of renders of the device, which showed the same bezel less display, but featured dual cameras on the back. The single camera has a dual tone flash. The alleged live photos reveal a higher screen to body ratio than the original Google Pixel.
There is no headphone jack on the device, according to the tipster. During the launch of the Google Pixel, the presence of the headphone jack on the device was something that Google highlighted, by noting that it was one of the few features on the phone that was not "new".
However, the removal of the audio jack has allowed for dual speaker grills on the bottom, which is one of the features that the Pixel 2 needed to stay competitive.
The Google Pixel 2 is expected in October 2017, a year after the launch of the original device. The device is expected to be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 platform, and be one of the first phones to ship with Android O.
The Pixel had one of the best cameras among smartphones released during the year, and the Pixel 2 is expected to follow that up by supporting a resolution of 16 MP on the main camera and 8 MP on the selfie shooter. The device is expected to be priced in the premium range.
