Google's latest flagship devices, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be available for pre-order in India from 26 October exclusively on Flipkart. The devices were earlier unveiled globally at a launch event on 4 October alongside the Pixelbook, Pixel Pen, Home Mini, Home Max, Clips and Pixel Buds.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are available in two storage variants of 64 GB and 128 GB. The Pixel 2 64 GB variant is priced at Rs 61,000, and the 128GB variant priced at Rs 70,000. The 64 GB variant for Pixel 2 XL is priced at Rs 73,000, and 128GB variant priced at Rs 82,000. The Pixel 2 will be up for sale on 1 November while the Pixel 2 XL will start selling from 15 November.
Introductory offers on the pre-orders include a free Sennheiser headset worth Rs 11,990, a cashback of Rs 8,000 on purchase made by HDFC credit card, 50 percent buyback guaranteed by Flipkart, and no-cost EMI at Rs 3,389 per month. Five winners can also get the Google's Daydream View 2 headset for free by participating in Flipkart's social media contest on its Facebook page.
Pixel 2 has a 5-inch FHD AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and 16:9 aspect ratio with 441 PPI pixel density. Pixel 2 XL has a 6-inch P-OLED QHD display panel with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 18:9 aspect ratio and 538 PPI pixel density. Both the devices will be equipped ‘Always-on display’ and front-facing speakers.
Pixel 2 boasts 95 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, Pixel 2 XL boasts an impressive 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. Both smartphone displays sport a 1,00,000:1 ‘super contrast ration with ‘True black level’. Both, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at up to 2.35 GHz along with 4 GB LPDDR4x RAM.
Google offers two storage variants for both the devices, one with 64 GB internal storage and the other with 128 GB internal storage without the option of external storage.
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL can capture ‘Portrait Mode’ images using the single 12.2 MP camera module with f/1.8 aperture available on the back of the devices. The company detailed that it will use machine learning along with ‘Dual Pixel’ technology to generate the depth in the image. Both the devices come with 8 MP camera on the front with f/2.4 aperture. Despite this, both the devices are able to capture ‘Portrait Mode’ images using the front camera.
Both the devices support Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0 with LE, NFC, GPS, and USB 2.0 Type-C port with a reversible connector for connectivity.
