Google has released new features for the Photos app along with the new update. The Google Photos app, now available on Android, Web and iOS platforms, will come with the ‘shared albums’ feature that will allow sharing albums with others. However, the feature will be made available only later this year.

Besides, one will also find support for Chromecast. The Google Photos 1.6 also brings new labeling feature. The update also means the addition of a new feature that allows gif image sharing to Whatsapp. This will allow users to share gif images from their feed with WhatsApp users.

The update will now allow users to search screen page as the app displays all faces from the images collection. Adding label to these can be done by simply tapping on them.

Though the app isn’t yet available for download, those who can’t wait to get their hands on it can side-load it from APKMirror .

Google announced a revamped Photos app, which was so far integrated within Google+, with some interesting features at the Google I/O 2015 developers conference on May 28 earlier this year. The show-stopping feature being the ability to support unlimited photos and video storage.

However, the image resolution is limited to 16 megapixels and video resolution is limited to 1080p videos, which is good enough for most mobile and amateur photographers out there. This app will be available for Android , iOS as well as the web .
