Google has upgraded its Now on Tap search feature on smartphones with Android Marshmallow to display a few more details. Those details now include flight status queries and even related news content to name a few. The Now on Tap instant search feature debuted with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and was indeed the highlighted feature of the update. Pressing down on the home button activates the search feature that will show up relevant information and apps depending on the conversations or text that appears on the screen. You can now long press on the home button to get flight status if your conversation in a chat centers around a flight number, not requiring you to open a separate search page or query for the same. Moreover, keeping in mind the holiday season, Google has also added a handy tracking feature for packages. All you need to do is to tap and hold on your confirmation email and Now on Tap will display tracking details for your package. The related news feature will pick up relevant news related to your search query or the topic being discussed on the screen. Moreover, there is now a handy share button to share those related news links in other apps. Google’s Now on Tap also goes multi-lingual with French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Korean support. Indeed, all of the above updates will not be available immediately but will be rolled out gradually as the official blog post points out.
