Google Nexus 5X, 6P: Would they be a sweeter deal than earlier versions?

The day has finally arrived! Google is set to **unveil quite a few devices** . For the first time, we expect two Nexus smartphones to be launched together! Probably with two iPhone devices happening for the past couple of years, this was expected. But there’s an interesting observation. Most reports and leaks this year have been hinting at the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, that sounds very familiar to the C and S versions of the iPhone iterations. This year, two OEMs are manufacturing the Nexus smartphone. From what we know so far, LG is expected to manufacture a 5.2-inch version, while Huawei would manufacture a 5.7-inch device. The Nexus device is looked at very closely by Google. The specifications and benchmark that Google creates. Every manufacturer that builds a Nexus device has been picked by Google. The two companies then work very closely to deliver the best possible customer experience. Nexus 6P 2 We’ve seen recent reports on how premium Android devices were beginning to see a downward trend in terms of sales. Initially, that would get Samsung worried about the outlook for its premium devices. But given that Android is so important for Google, the pricing of its flagship devices becomes all the more critical. We’ve also seen how premium Android smartphones launched at relatively high prices are available in months at significant discounts. Effectively, it just makes sense to wait it out for about six months before opting to buy a premium **Android smartphone such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge** . Google would be closely studying these trends and would look at reversing the trend. The solution to it would be to offer better value for money with its Nexus devices. The signs of sales tipping don’t help the market for a new device, unless the innovation within is transformational, with exceptional battery and brilliant spec sheet that stands out. On the lower end price segment, Chinese manufacturers such as OnePlus and Xiaomi are also getting people to opt for budget choices rather than premium flagships. To add to the competition, there’s Google’s own Android One program that delivers the latest Android version for the budget user. Manufacturers of flagship devices seem to reckon that the features of these devices are plateauing with fewer innovative feature sets that could demand a premium price tag. And rightly so, Google is expected to lower the prices of its upcoming Android flagship devices to a level lower than the previous Nexus smartphones. If anything, this would create the more affordable flagships to pack in more features to appeal to the larger consumer base. There couldn’t be better news for consumers eagerly looking to buy an Android smartphone!
