Summer is officially going to be over soon for the Northern hemisphere, 21 September. So, the team at Google maps did an interactive infographics of how people across the world spent their summer vacations.

In a blogpost , Google maps team wrote,

We reviewed the summer search activity on maps.google.com in several countries between the end of May and the beginning of September. Within each country, a look at some of the top-rising searches and the often-searched landmarks on Google Maps gives us a sense of how people around the world spent their summers.

As you can see from the infographic for Indians, the most popular search landmark was Yamuna Expressway that runs from Greater Noida to Agra. Second on the list, is the scenic backwaters of Kerala. Taj Mahal came in to fourth spot.

Overall, India seems to be searching for a lot of tourist attractions followed by railway and metro stations and then religious spots.

Recently Google Maps in India was upgraded with new live-traffic information for several major Indian cities andturn-by-turn voice-guided driving directions in an Indian accent.
