After Yahoo and Bing, Google too has redesigned its logo and gone for a more flatter design. The announcement comes days after Google had denied that it was redesigning the official logo.
ArsTechnica had initially spotted the Google logo change in the code of the new Chrome beta for Android but Google has said that it was not changing the logo.
However today in a blog post Google has confirmed the new logo will be rolled out soon. Google wrote in a blog post
Your Google products are now accessible under a new app launcher, located at the top right of the screen. Just click on the familiar 'Apps' grid, also present on Android devices and Chromebooks:
As part of this design, we've also refined the color palette and letter shapes of the Google logo. We'll be rolling out this update across most Google products over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out and let us know your thoughts.
Google's older logo had drop shadows but the new logo is definitely flatter. The India homepage is still not reflecting the new logo or the apps search bar and we might have to wait for the changes to take place.
With the new home page all the apps such as Gmail, Drive, etc will disappear from the top and come on the right side of the screen.
