Google+ gets embeddable posts finally

After Facebook rolled out embeddable posts from its social networking website, Google+ has finally come to the party too. Google’s social site has announced two new features that aims to make using the website a better experience for users—embeddable posts and author attribution.

With embedded posts on Google+, it becomes easier for you to grab posts from the social networking website and add it to your website or story to make a point. You can pick up image stories, updates and media posts from the website.

Choose “Embed post” from the drop down

To add a post to your website, you need to follow the same procedure as you would on Facebook or Twitter to grab a code. Select “embed post” from the dropdown of the particular post you want and paste it into your website. The best part about these embeddable posts are that they’re completely interactive, so you can +1 or comment on them from within the website, without needing to head on to Google+.

The other new feature Google is rolling out on the website today is its Authorship programme. For example, now if you log on to Wordpress.com using your Google credentials, your posts will be associated with your Google+ profile automatically. This will help your surface your information when it’s most relevant. So when someone searches for your Wordpress posts now, your name, picture, and a link to your Google+ profile will appear with your post.

This Authorship programme association is currently rolling out with WordPress and Typepad now. Google says that it plans to extend it to a variety of sites like About.com, WikiHow and Examiner too, so users can make the most out of the Google+ Sign In.

When not tweeting or writing about the next viral video, you will hear her proclaiming her love to Metallica, James Hetfield, Opeth, Akerfeldt and all bands that go 'growl'. She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs.
