Today’s Google Doodle paints a colourful picture to celebrate the Indian festival of Holi. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil with a bonfire, followed by a carnival of colours. In the doodle, Google starts splashing colours on the logo. Once the logo is completely drenched in colours like pink, orange, blue and so on, the doodle ends with a smiley, representing good wishes and happiness. Holi is a spring festival also known as the festival of colours. The celebrations begin with a Holika bonfire on the night before Holi. The next morning is a carnival of colours, wherein participants play, chase and colour each other with dry powder and coloured water,The water fight continues with water guns and coloured water-filled balloons. This is the fifth time that Google India has celebrated Holi with a doodle. Prior to this, we’ve seen Holi doodles in 2001, 2010, 2011 and 2014. Last year’s **Holi doodle** showed a pichkari or water gun splashing colours on the Google logo.
