Google has a new doodle today and this one is to commemorate the 54th birth anniversary of Keith Haring. Keith Haring …ah who? Well he’s an American street artist cum social activist who’s work was inspired by New York street culture of the 1980’s.
As usual Google’s doodle artist is trending on sthe earch engine since people are busy trying to figure out who he is and what he did to deserve a Google doodle.
Haring is a fairly prominent artist in the world of pop art. As the Guardian points out, Mentored by Andy Warhol, Haring opened a small shop in SoHo in 1986 called Pop Shop, selling merchandise bearing his iconic images including T-shirts, toys, posters, badges and key rings as well as reproductions of his art.

As a pop artist, Haring is much celebrated across the world due to the creativity and the energy present in his work. The doodle today is made up of bunch of people dancing and celebrating. These images are were a recurring theme in Haring’s own style of art work.
Haring died of aids-related complications in 1990.
