Google Doodle celebrates Google!

Google enters its teenage years today. Look forward to dark times of pubescent tantrums and senses of identity confusion. Nah, just kidding, it’s Google. 13 years ago, Sergey Brin and Larry Page incorporated a privately held company to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”. The company had its initial public offering in 2004. In addition to a web search service, Google’s services are virtually ubiquitous. Happy birthday, Google!

Happy birthday, Google!

There’s a little bit of confusion, though. We’re not doubting that Google doesn’t know it’s own birthday, but they themselves say that they were incorporated on the 4th of September in 1998. The Doodle seems a little late. The Doodle itself is a photograph of the Google characters, some of them wearing party hats, standing around a cake waiting to blow the candles out. They’ve even added an exclamation mark, paying tribute to the logo from when they first had one. Happy birthday Google!

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo.
