Google Docs Finally gets Native Android App

Google has provided apps for most of their services in the Android Operating System, but one that was conspicuous in its absence was Google Documents. Android users were forced to use the browser for performing tasks, but that was now been changed slightly with the introduction of the Google Docs app for Android.

What’s up, Docs?

The Google Docs app will allow users to share documents with their contacts, star their important documents and access it via the accompanying homescreen widget, and upload text-heavy images easily. Check out the features of the app:

• Designed for Android to save you time finding your docs
• Edits to your documents appear to collaborators in seconds
• Make quick changes to spreadsheets
• View your documents, PDFs, images and more.
• Upload and convert files to the Google Docs format
• Take a photo of printed text and convert it to a Google document
• Share docs with your phone’s contacts

The Google Docs App for Android is currently available only in English and for handsets and tablets sporting Android 2.1 (Eclair) and above. You can get it from the Android Market here.
