Google’s Chrome web browser for iOS has received a new update on it’s app which has given it a revamped ‘Material Design’ look. After many minor updates, the final one which has been rolled out looks greatly like the company’s own Android 5.0 Lollipop. The ‘Chrome 40’ version which is offered by Google, aims to give a universal feel to all mobile devices regardless of which handset is being used.

9to5mac  pointed out that the updated app also gains support for Apple’s Handoff feature, which allows users to pick up where they left off in one app in another on OS X. Users can jump from Chrome on iOS to Safari or any other default browser on a Mac.

A lot of emphasis has been given to the color scheme as well. The new update offers bold and bright colors along with interactions that are meant to suggest real-world physics.

Google has focused their new update for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users as well. It brings about optimisation for iOS 8 and also for their large screens. In other features, the update will have stability improvements and bug fixes.

The ‘Material Design’ update was long received by Android, but of course. Finally, iOS users can also take advantage of the new look. In the past, Google has released Material Design updates for apps such as Google Maps, YouTube and Google Search.
