Google acknowledges Pixel lens flare issue; will release patch soon

However, there is one niggling problem and the company has also gone ahead and acknowledged the issue - flare lens.

Google Pixel has already received accolades from all nooks and corners, and sort of enjoys the tag of the 'best Android ever'. However, there is one niggling problem and the company has also gone ahead and acknowledged the issue – flare lens.

There have been users complaining of a distracting halo lens flare in photos that are taken in bright light. Now, Google has not just acknowledged the issue, but also promised to fix it soon. How soon? Well, in the coming weeks', it says.

lens flare is common, but in case of Pixel, the camera is more susceptible than others, and some Redittors have been complaining about it. "You'll probably see it if you take a photo with a bright light source visible. In particular, there's a halo effect in the corners of the frame," points out AndroidPolice.

The report adds that in a forum thread, it is said that the issue doesn't mean a defective device, and all Pixel devices may see this problem to some extent. However, later it was said that there could be a fix. "This will only work with HDR+ enabled, but there's no reason to turn that feature off as it's considerably faster on the Pixel than on past Google devices," the report further adds.
