In 2015, Google had enabled accessing email from Yahoo and Outlook from the Gmail app on Android. In a new announcement, Google now adds a new feature called Gmailify allowing Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail/Outlook users to link existing accounts to Gmail and get features like spam protection, inbox organisation and even Google Cards.
These are some of the best tools on Android. Organisation tool allows separating emails into categories such as social, updates and promotions. One will also get enhanced notifications. Gmailify also brings voice search via Google Now to non-Gmail account users. “So starting today, if you use Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail/Outlook.com, you now have the option to Gmailify your inbox. Gmailify links your existing account to Gmail so that you get all the bells and whistles—spam protection, inbox organization and even Google Now cards based on your mail—without having to leave your current address behind,” Google writes in an official blog post. Users need to simply sign into their email accounts using Gmail app, and enable Gmailify. They also get the option to unlinking the account at any time, and continue accessing their account via the Gmail app even without using Gmailify.
