Sit down and pay attention, folks. Public Shaming 101 is just about to begin. What would you do if you realised that the man who stole your phone forgot to turn the camera sync off? Probably, contact the police, right? This girl here took to the Internet to shame her thief quite publically.
The girl, who hasn’t revealed her name, wrote in the initial post that she was with her friends in Ibiza, Spain when they were robbed of their belongings at the beach. After leaving their things lying around, they realised that a man had walked off with their phones, passports and purses. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the man who stole her smartphone forgot to turn the camera sync off, thereby ensuring all the pictures he clicked landed up with her.
Hafid poses
So, the lady here started a Tumblr called Life of a stranger who stole my phone and started putting up images of the man – identified as only Hafid – on the blog. She figured his name out when the man sent her a personal message using his own profile. Not the smartest move he has made. Hafid regularly clicks pictures now with zero knowledge that the pictures are all being synced with.
The girl has put up images of Hafid posing around in locations in and around Dubai, including pictures of him standing in front of the Burj Khalifa and a mosque. The captions to the images she puts up are generally hilarious and sometimes bordering on insensitive. She even uploaded a video of Hafid using her Skype account to hit on her friends.
“Celebrate good crimes, come on!”
Well, whether or not Hafid gets caught and her phone is recovered is one issue, currently the girl and the blogging world is taking immense pleasure in noting Hafid’s silly pictures with his BFFs Ali and Abdulla.
