Gionee Pioneer P4S smartphone launched at Rs 7,799; sports 4.5-inch display, Android KitKat

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has released a new budget smartphone named Pioneer P4S. The device, which was originally unveiled in November 2014, has been priced at Rs 7799 for the Indian market.


Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has released a new budget smartphone named Pioneer P4S. The device, which was originally unveiled in November 2014, has been priced at Rs 7,799 for the Indian market.

Commenting on the launch, Arvind Vohra, Country CEO and MD, Gionee India said, "The Pioneer series has been receiving favourable response from the consumers in India. All the models have been appreciated and the P4S takes the standards a level higher by packing superior features in a good looking smartphone." He adds, "Gionee has been setting high standards in various aspects and believes in giving the consumers better than the best."

The new smartphone features a 4.5-inch display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. In terms of memory, the Gionee Pioneer P4S comes equipped with an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The device runs the older Android 4.4 KitKat OS and includes a 5MP rear camera with LED flash alongside a 2MP front facing camera. Gionee says that the camera can capture 99 images in 21 seconds. In terms of connectivity, the device supports 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by 1,800mAh battery.

The Pioneer P4S also comes with a window flip cover which allows users to see the time, date, weather and more during a phone call. The device also allows users to "flip the phone to transfer files, get the perfect photo, listen to surround music, stay secured in the cyber world and definitely flip to discover a sexy phone."
