As expected , Gionee has launched its latest flagship, the Gionee Elife E8, at 3999 RMB (approx. Rs 41,100) in Beijing. The company has also announced the Marathon M5 that comes equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, promising up to 4 days of battery life on a single charge. It is priced at 2299 RMB that translates to approximately Rs 23,600. Gionee devices are known for their camera and looks like the new E8 takes it a notch higher with a 24MP camera. It also claims to be the first Android smartphone to come with lossless imagery at 3X zoom. It also comes fitted with an 8MP front-facing camera. The E8 sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2540p resolution. It runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) along with a layer of the company’s Amigo 3.1 software. Under the hood, it comes powered by a 2GHz Mediatek MT6785 octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. The device also gets 64GB onboard storage. The connectivity options include 4G, NFC, along with other standard options we see in all devices. The dual-SIM smartphone features a fingerprint scanner and dual speakers to support High Fidelity sound. A 3,500mAh battery completes the package. The company’s Marathon M5 comes dfitted with a 6,000mAh battery and an extreme mode that delivers standby time of 62 hours with only 5 percent of charge. It can charge up to two devices simultaneously. The specs sheet also reveals a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 720 x 1280p resolution, Android Lollipop, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, Mediatek MT6735 quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 4G support.
