Ghost Recon: Future Soldier not coming to PC

Delaying games on the PC for fears of piracy is one thing, but cancelling them altogether for that platform is just ridiculous. Ubisoft’s paranoia seems to have reached feverish levels as the publisher/developer told PC Gamer in a recent interview that Ghost Recon Future Soldier won’t be coming to the PC. Instead PC gamers will get something called Ghost Recon Online, a free to play shooter with micro-transactions.

The Ghosts don’t seem too fond of PC gaming

Here’s what Sébastien Arnoult, the game’s producer told PC Gamer, “When we started Ghost Recon Online we were thinking about Ghost Recon: Future Solider; having something ported in the classical way without any deep development, because we know that 95% of our consumers will pirate the game. So we said okay, we have to change our mind. We have to adapt, we have to embrace this instead of pushing it away. That’s the main reflection behind Ghost Recon Online and the choice we’ve made to go in this direction.”

That’s a rather foolish assumption. I know PC piracy is huge, but calling 95 percent of your database pirates is just retarded. Also just because they’re afraid of piracy, they’re giving PC gamers a crappy, watered down multiplayer only free to play game? Thanks, but no thanks Ubisoft.
