Gearbox confirms Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition

Shortly after rumours that hinted towards a Game of the Year Edition for Borderlands 2, Gearbox has confirmed it. The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition will be making its way to stores on October 11. The Indian distributor for Take Two’s games, e-Xpress Interactive, hasn’t yet confirmed whether the game is making its way to India. Considering how the first game’s Game of the Year Edition did make it here, however, it is very likely that Borderlands 2 will be getting a second wind here as well.

The Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands 2 includes the main game, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty, Mr Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, Creature Slaughter Dome, Paige the PMechromancer, Gearbox Gun Pack, Golden Key, Vault Hunter’s Relic, Krieg the Psycho, Collector’s Edition heads and skins and the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack.

“For us and for fans, the love for  Borderlands 2 has been nothing short of spectacular, so it’s natural for us here at Gearbox Software to want everyone else to have a chance to experience the best-selling game and its most valuable expansion content," said Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software. “The  Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition  offers more value than ever before in one package, giving everyone an opportunity to become a legendary Vault Hunter, and join in the award winning mayhem and fun."

Currently, no price has been announced for it. However, going by the precedent set by other games (including the first Borderlands) we expect it to cost the same as the main game did.

Back when it was launched, we found Borderlands 2 to be a great game that refined the first title’s mechanics. Check out our review for more information.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
