The new year is being kicked off by HBO in style. After releasing six-second Vine clippings and what to expect out of the new season, the television network has unleashed the power-packed trailer for the fourth season of Game of Thrones.
The trailer that spans over one and a half minutes in length shows us glimpses of pretty much all important characters from the show. We can see an increasingly angry Cersei Lannister, an ambitious Daenerys Targaryen and even Tyrion Lannister, Joffrey Baratheon and Jon Snow. The trailer even ends on a high note with Tyrion ominously declaring, “If you want justice, you’ve come to the wrong place.”
Even as the trailer hit the TV sets in the US on Sunday night – Monday morning, IST – it was made available on YouTube too, leaving fans of the magnum opus salivating for more. In about five hours of being released, it has already garnered 1.5 million views on YouTube. Twitter, of course, was set alight by tweets about the trailer and the upcoming season. In the past 24 hours, there were 44,000 tweets around the topic, according to our research. About 5,700 of these tweets came in the past two hours alone, so the buzz is not about to slow down anytime soon.
The fourth season will take off from the incidents immediately post the ‘Red Wedding’ and the defeat of Robb Stark by Walder Frey and the Lannisters. By the looks of the trailer, season 4 of Game of Thrones promises to be a real treat. The series will start airing on April 6 in the US.
Before the release of the full-length trailer, the official Game of Thrones Twitter account had released Vine trailers for the season on the page. Check out a few of them as a bonus!
