And the nominees are:

Left 4 Dead 2

Improving on the original in many ways while retaining the core gameplay that made the first one such a blast, Left 4 Dead 2 was a wild ride through yet another zombie apocalypse. It packed in tons of new stuff like an all new set of characters, new weapons, melee weapons and harrowing new (and not to mention annoying) infected.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Unless you’ve spent the last month inside a nuclear bunker you know what this game is about and the massive amount of controversy it generated. Still it delivered at the end of the day with a solid single player campaign and an ‘addictive as crack’ multiplayer mode.

Borderlands

Borderlands treads the fine line between shooter and RPG with entertaining results. The game allowed you and three of your friends to embark on a loot-hunting fueled journey through the treacherous planet of Pandora (not the same as the one from Avatar) as you strived to unravel the alien treasure hidden deep inside an area known only as “The Vault”.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
