Galaxy Note 3 joins Samsung’s ‘10 Million Seller Club’ in just two months

It’s been two months since Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 hit its first markets and the company has now said that 10 million units of the phone have been sold so far. To celebrate the landmark Samsung has now released something called the 10 Million Seller Club, which tracks all Samsung mobile phones which have reached that mark over the years.

Blockbuster!

According to Samsung’s figures, the Note 3 easily bested its predecessors in the Note range. While the original Note took 9 months to reach the 10 million mark, the Note 2 took less than half that time (4 months) and now the Note 3 has managed to best even that short timeline. In comparison, the Galaxy S4, the other top-end Samsung smartphone, took 50 days to reach the mark. So it would seem the considerably larger size of the Note 3 hasn’t had too much of an adverse impact on sales.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Samsung released an infographic commemorating all its mobile phones that have passed the coveted mark. It includes not just the company’s Galaxy range of Android smartphones, but examples of S40 and Symbian phones that were once the most popular in the world.

One has to give Samsung credit where it’s due. A look at the infographic shows the company has consistently sold over 10 million units of each of its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships over the years, starting with the Galaxy S. It has also reserved a spot for the next handset to reach the mark. We wouldn’t want to read too much into a placeholder image, but it certainly looks bigger than the Note 3 besides it. Is Samsung saying its next blockbuster phone will also be a phablet?
