Delhi-based video Q&A platform Frankly has raised a $600,000 investment from Matrix Partners. Frankly is the Q&A platform which connects a layman to a public figure and raises the engagement level between them. Frankly.me is a unique platform which works purely on Q&A. The founders Nikunj Jain and Abhishek Gupta hope to create more meaningful conversations which can have more than 140 characters. Tech Crunch reported that the start-up based in India, hopes to take advantage of the country’s fast-growing mobile penetration rate with this week’s launch of its mobile apps. Secondly, company-founder Nikunj Jain says that there isn’t a similar platform in India for people to connect with public figures, such as government officials. The company’s founders hope that users will use this platform to communicate with politicians, actors, singers, business leaders and so on. Exposure from public figures on the platform has already resulted in 1,000 to 2,000 new users. Also, as Delhi’s Assembly elections begin from February, Frankly hopes to create a major buzz and aims to take great advantage of this event. The report also further added that, while the platform is open to users all over the world, Frankly plans to focus on India for the next 15 to 18 months and along with the challenge of expanding in a market where there are more than 20 officially recognised languages. Frankly.me is as of now in Beta mode for it’s website, Android and iOS apps.
