Foxconn to introduce new 1.5GHz dual-core smartphone, the Mi-ONE

Foxconn (the factory that manufactures Apple iPhones) are planning to release their new smartphone based on the popular MIUI ROMS. This smartphone, called the Mi-ONE or the Xiaomi phone, does pack a punch as far as hardware is concerned but it also comes pre-loaded with unlocked boot loaders and runs on Android 2.3.5.

The Mi-ONE smartphone will run on a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 (MSM8260) processor with a 266MHz Adreno220 GPU, a 4GB ROM and 1GB of RAM. It will also have an 8MP rear camera, noise-cancelling microphones, a micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB and will work on both GSM/ WCDMA bands. Now such specs do deserve a massive battery and the people at Foxconn have, fortunately, acknowledged that. The Mi-ONE will have a massive 1930 mAH battery. Now, that might just be able to fire up your device for a couple of days.

Wait, it doesn’t end there. The Mi-ONE will have a special MI-button which will be completely user customisable based on the required function. Now, that’s a neat little feature that hasn’t really ‘featured’ in previous smartphones. And at 149 grams, surely most of us will not be complaining.

But there’s one problem currently. The Mi-ONE will be primarily sold in China; but, they are looking at a potential partnership with Xiaomi to bring this device to other countries. It will retail at 350$ (only!?) and with those features, this phone is sure to give users complete value for money.
