Four new Nokia-branded smartphones to launch around second and third quarter in 2017

Nokia is expected to launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon powered flagship during Mobile World Congress 2017  **as reported earlier** . 2017 will be significant for the company as it tries to make a comeback in the smartphone market. According to a recent report in Digitimes, HMD Global will launch four new smartphones in addition to one that will launch during MWC 2017. HMD Global has been making Nokia-branded device since last year and the demand for the devices has crossed any previous estimate. There are no new details on the upcoming new models in terms of which market these new Nokia-branded smartphones will target. According to the source, these new models will range between 5.0 - 5.7-inches with WQHD or Full HD resolution displays. LG Display, Innolux and Century Technology will be the companies that will supply display panels. In addition, FIH Mobile will be the production partner to increase and keep up with the growing demand. The flagship device expected to be launched during MWC 2017 is rumoured to be Nokia C1. which appears to be a flagship through and through. The Nokia C1 pictured in leaked images seems to feature a metal design, but with replaceable backs that appear to be made of different materials and textures. As for the leaked specifications, the slides mention that the Nokia C1 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset (we guess this is an 835) with 4GB RAM. There will be 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage options and the device will draw power from a 3,210 mAh battery. The same slide also points out that the device will feature Android 7.1.1 out of the box.
