Follow the ICC Cricket World Cup action on Twitter using #cwc15; BCCI also announces tie-up

Any major event and Twitter isn’t far behind. We had seem some innovation on Twitter during the FIFA Football World Cup last year, where you could see tiny maps of the participating nations if you added a hashtag of the country. With the ICC World Cup about to start tomorrow, Twitter has already started its World Cup special hashtag - #cwc15. Enter #cwc15 in your Twitter search bar, and you will be presented with a layout that is different from the regular layout for Twitter searches which show Top Tweets and All Tweets. At the top you have flags of the participating nations and the screen is divided into three self-explanatory tabs - Tweets, Photos and Matches. [caption id=“attachment_254468” align=“aligncenter” width=“281”]  The layout has Tweets / Photos / Matches tabs and you can also type in the hashtag of competing teams to get more specific information on that match[/caption] Twitter will be grouping all the match related information which is tagged with #cwc15 under this special search page. For followers of the World Cup on the web platform, Twitter has created a Cricket World Cup 2015 timeline which will have match schedule, tweets, Commentary and Photos & Videos. It is a one-stop shop for cricket enthusiasts to follow the world cup with the rest of the people across the globe. There will be a Match timeline that will be activated whenever a game is under way. You will get the latest scrores, live commentary from Twitter users as well as official commentators as well as photos from the match. Twitter has kept the experience across all platforms so as to get maximum engagement from the users. Even the national cricketing body - the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has tied up with Twitter to bring missed call updates to fans. For those fans are too tied up to follow the hashtags. You can give a missed call on 011 3008 1008 from your mobile phones and get updates from the @BCCI Twitter handle. After dialling the number, the fans will start following the @BCCI account and will get around three tweets daily as text messages. The messages will also include links with photos, videos along with domestic and international match updates.
