Leading Indian e-commerce site Flipkart will now be selling televisions again through its online marketplace. At the moment, the site is offering this category only to the shoppers from Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi with plans to eventually start deliveries to other cities. Last June, the company had stopped selling TVs, but it's giving it another shot.
The shoppers will be able to choose television sets from most brands with names such as Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Toshiba and Videocon featuring in the company statement. Flipkart is also offering Cash-On-Delivery service, just like any other product, and 30 day replacement guarantee and In-a-Day delivery guarantee services.
In addition, the company claims to have an 'exhaustive' buying guide along with exchange schemes. In addition, there's scheduled delivery as well, which makes sense for something like TVs. A cursory look at the inventory showed TVs on discounts ranging up to 30 percent.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, SVP - Retail at Flipkart said in the statement that the company will be "adding many more products & verticals in the coming months.” Whichever those verticals are, you will be able to see them on the recently-launched Windows Phone app for Flipkart.
