Flipkart lets users reserve 16GB Moto G; wait time increases to 10-20 days

If you plan to own the 16GB Moto G, Flipkart will let you reserve the phone. Flipkart along with Motorola started selling the device exclusively late last week. The online retailer managed to sell **20,000 Moto G phones** within hours of debut and the 16GB unit turned out to be a big hit. In fact, it was completely sold out within 15 minutes.   The Flipkart site now adds a “Reserve Now” button next to the 16GB model, and the device will be shipping in 10-20 days. The site says that it is currently out of stock, but will get back soon. It should be noted that there isn’t much difference in the prices of the 8GB and 16GB models. The 8GB device is priced at Rs 12,499 while the 16GB unit costs Rs 13,999.   Talking about the 16GB unit, **Flipkart co-founder and CEO Sachin Bansal** had earlier said, “The price difference between 8 GB and 16 GB was not much and that could have also led to people going for the 16 GB one.” He reportedly also said that the site saw more traffic than peak Diwali rush time.   It should also be noted that Motorola hasn’t appointed any main distributor and is completely relying on the reach of the online retailer. Moreover, it retails for similar price in the US; the 8GB model is priced around $179 (about Rs 11,200) while the 16GB version is at $199 (about Rs 12,400).
