You can now view Instagram videos on your Flipboard iOS and Android apps, reports The Next Web. The social-network aggregator confirmed the news to the website. The ability to view videos on Instagram was introduced at a recent Facebook event and Flipboard is among the web services to have jumped into the fray to incorporate it.
Strangely, if you head over to the Android and iOS app stores, you will not find this specific update listed in the changelog, but TNW’s Josh Ong claims that he updated to the latest version of the app and found Instagram videos appearing in his feed.
Instagram videos too now
That aside, Flipboard updated its Android and iOS apps to include a couple of new features. The Flipboard iOS app, now in version 2.0.4, lets you share to Twitter and Facebook when sharing your magazines. The apps, both Android and iOS, feature fixes to some previously known bugs and improvements too.
The iOS version of the app was bumped up to version 2.0 in March, which allowed users to publish their own content. The app saw more than 50,000 magazines created on version 2.0 within two weeks alone.
Both apps remind Google Reader users to save their feeds and folders by logging into Reader on Flipboard on or before June 30.
The popular service reached 56 million readers , and the company is now considering ways to capitalise on its growth by focusing on generating revenue. Mike McCue, the company’s CEO, revealed at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York that Flipboard has seen six million new users since it was updated back in March.
