It’s been a month since Dong Nguyen, the maker of the uber-addictive Flappy Bird, pulled the plug on the Google Play and App Store. He cited reasons like people were “ getting too addictive ”.
However, earlier this month, all Flappy Bird fans would have been relieved when reports about the game coming back with a warning started hitting headlines. Now, Gawker has spotted a tweet from Nguyen that confirms that the game will be returning to the App Store.
Take a look at the conversation below:
Earlier in an interview with Rolling Stones , Nguyen had revealed that he is considering re-launching the game, but doesn’t plan any updated version. So, its quite possible that the developer is planning to bring back the game to the App Store, but hasn’t decided when.
Earlier, Nguyen blamed the continuous attention the game had been generating to be the reason of its death. He said that he had started to feel guilty at the game becoming an obsession . He had reportedly started receiving emails about workers who had lost jobs because of the game and also a mother who had stopped talking to her kids. The Vietnamese developer also said that his life had not been as comfortable it was before after the game received such popularity.
With Flappy Bird coming back, we wonder if Nguyen plans to add make any changes to the game. We wonder if the “warning with the game” may be the limited time that one can spend on the game each day.
We’ve put together a list of apps – including Ironpants – which you can download and play to satiate your Flappy Bird addiction till then. Check it out .
