Just a few days ago, Evernote launched a new scanning app called Scannable which would allow users to scan various paper documents and share/save them as they wish. Thankfully, there are so many apps today which reduce the tedious task of scanning documents manually. Not only have they helped us go paperless, but they have literally made scanners obsolete. We take a look at five quick scanning apps for iOS which have made scanning super convenient.
1. Genius Scan
This free scanning app will allows users to scan documents and adjust settings according to whatever fits best. It also allows users to save their documents and share it via emails and a few compatible apps. Scanned documents and can be saved according to tags. With $2.99, users can download the Genius Scan+ which allows users to use the app with cloud services such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
2. TurboScan
TurboScan turns your iPhone into a multipage scanner for documents, receipts, notes, whiteboards, and other text. The app allows users to quickly scan documents and store or email them as multipage PDF or JPEG files. It features a Scan 3x feature that will can take 3 pictures of the same document, and combine them for the best scan.
3. CamScanner
With CamScanner, a user can scan, merge, password protect, delete, share, tag, and even upload documents to cloud services all for free. Documents can be shared in PDF or JPEG format via various ways such as social media or through emails. Annotations can be made on documents with a full set of editing tools. Customized watermarks are made available to mark documents as well.
4. Doc Scan
The app can fast auto-detect document edges from a picture, correct perspective distortion, remove shadows and brighten it up to produce a clear and sharp document which is especially useful in a low-light environment. Users can draw lines or annotate on the scanned image anytime. In-app fax sending is available which makes it convenient especially when out of office. The app suggests that for best edge detection, users should place their documents in high contrast to the background, i.e. white paper on a dark table.
5. TinyScan Pro
The app can quickly scan small receipts, documents, or anything else into an image or a PDF. Users can choose between photograph, black and white, or grey-scale. The app supports sharing directly with Evernote, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box. The app is available for $4.99 on the App store.
