The conference will provide a platform for individual developers to showcase their skills and come up with new apps, which could attract users to Firefox’s market place. The report suggests that apps like WhatsApp and Angry Birds, which have been a hit on all the platforms, could also get a Firefox OS version at the conference.

However, this is not be the first time that an international developer’s conference will be organised in India. In 2012, Microsoft had organised the Windows Appfest, which gave developers an opportunity to come up with new and innovative apps.

The Bengaluru event focused on developing apps compatible with the then launched Windows 8. The 18-hour non-stop coding event attracted almost 2500 developers that included student participants, professional app developers and teams from various app developing companies.
