Family Guy and Wipeout Games Announced

The world we live in today is messed up. On one hand Activision cancels the Guitar Hero franchise as well as one of my most anticipated games of the year, True Crime, while on the other they announce a Family Guy game and a video game adaptation of TV show Wipeout. Words cannot express my disgust as this turd like this gets to be made into a video game while an awesome open world game gets the axe.

Activision is of the opinion that both Family Guy and Wipeout “are strong franchises with passionate niche audiences that can achieve repeatable and profitable success.” Maybe my memory’s giving way with age but I cannot seem to remember the last time a video game adaptation of a TV show was “profitable”. Besides these two games, expect another Spiderman game from developer Beenox, who tasted quite a bit of success with their latest Spiderman game titled Shattered Dimensions.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
