Facebook to soon introduce more 3D Touch support to its iOS app: Report

Facebook will introduce 3D Touch in Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus within the timeline and News Feed. However, the latest 3D Touch tricks will be initially rolled out to ‘a small group of people’ with everyone else getting it ‘over the coming months.’ In conversation with TechCrunch, a Facebook spokesperson said, “We are excited to start rolling out support for 3D Touch in our iOS app so people can quickly and easily peek into a preview of anything they are interested in on Facebook, and pop into that content to see more.” Instead of tapping and swiping, 3D Touch will allow users to hard-press on items to preview content and then optionally act on it. Initially, the previewing feature was codenamed ‘peek and pop’ and was introduced on Apple’s new smartphones last year. According to the report, this feature will work with web links, profiles, Facebook Pages, Facebook Groups, Facebook Events, photos, profile pictures, and cover photos. Last year, Paytm released a new version of its app for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The application supports the 3D Touch feature as well that is one of the most prominent upgrades in the highly anticipated devices from Apple. With 3D Touch, users can do a lot more from the Paytm app icon itself, enhancing one’s propensity to make more cashless transactions quicker and with greater convenience.
