Facebook seems to be testing a new feature that lets you sort your comments chronologically or by activity. The feature, currently up for Pages (see image below), lets you sort your comments in such a way that the earliest comments on a post show up. Mashable first spotted this new feature and claims that a small set of users have been given access to this ability too.

The way it is right now, only the most 'liked' and 'replied to' comments on posts, on Pages and Profiles with over 10,000 followers, show up at the top of the list. Comments that are not replied to or are marked as spam remain at the bottom. This new feature though, makes it possible for users to sort their comments in a chronological order and not just by popularity.

Over the months Facebook has rolled out a host of tweaks to its comments feature. After introducing threaded replies and comments for Pages feature earlier this year, Facebook rolled out a feature that allows users to insert images into the comments stream. You can click on the image in a comment to view a larger version of it in the photo viewer, but you will not be able to comment on it. Pages have not been given this feature just yet; you will only be able to comment using images on your friends’ status messages or group posts.

If Facebook does roll this feature out expect it to be done in a staggered manner as with all their other updates.
